VR Gun Imagn' Games

I have been using the 9 Degrees of Freedom - Sensor Stick SEN-10724 , and while it does work great! it only works great, when it working:O( What I mean is I keep having Magnetometer problems, and while it just may be a batch problem(you know a bad batch), I am starting to wonder if I should go with a different chip. So does anyone have any suggestions? Please keep in mind that the goal is to keep this VRGUN at the lowest price possible without sacrificing too much quality in the IMU.
