here is a link to what im talking about (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ysb-Oko3Bg)
i have also attatched a schematic (lol) please geniuses build it, it would be so amazing.

- AntzyHonored GuestThat might take some time. Be happy with oculus rift for now :P
- EarlGreyExpert ProtegeWell, that drawing is rather awful
Not sure people are willing to get into some sorts of a space suit in order to experience VR, at least not in ordinary casual setting in homes.
At most people might be willing to put on thin gloves that track the hands and finger movement allowing for world interaction.
But surely, a robotic skeleton suit does show promise with regards of providing resistance. E.g. the suit skeleton providing resistance, so if you're attempting to lift an object in the VR then the suit might provide for the necessary resistance weight to simulate that. - runnin2004Honored GuestWhat do you think of this setup with the rift? Motion capture suit and the rift.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtMfrkRqlRs - saviorntProtegeI know what the OP was asking about, and they have those already. For the Xsens suits - Request a quote. Which means, they are way out of my price range. A more affordable alternative would be the PrioVR suit. Not totally wireless, but much more budget friendly to us indies.
I've seen what the OP is talking about in YT videos, namely coming out of Japan gaming convention / conferences. It looks like a huge gyro, with the player inside of it. - DieKatzchenHonored GuestI don't suppose you could link some of these YT videos? I am interested in this gyro solution from the East.
- saviorntProtegeIf I can remember the name of a few, yea
edit: Found something similar here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsZHi8ruXas
The ones I remember had the user with either basically a TV or a huge !@# headset on and VR gloves (these are old expo's, early 90's?) Perhaps if Palmer reads this he can chime in on it and whether or not I'm crazy or not :| - brettoriousHonored Guest:O my drawing was excellent how dare you lol. thanks for the reply's guys, some interesting things for me to read up on. one day i shall have my exoskeleton!
- reBoot185Honored Guestneoprene+all those old haptic cellphones you kept because why should we throw them away? they're good enough for 911.. they're good enough to network as output "dualshock" devices.. some now are good enough for positional tracking.
neoprene is a personal preference based on wearing my 12pound vest version of something like this(http://soccer.epicsports.com/prod/62755/everlast-evergrip-weighted-training-vest.html).
instead of iron sand, you would sew in the networked phones. sorry.., i only see how to do it.. i don't intend to do it for a while.
if using http://www.ebay.com/itm/3200mAh-External-Backup-Battery-Charger-Case-For-Samsung-Galaxy-S4-S3-i-phone-4s-/161259051637?pt=US_Cell_Phone_PDA_Batteries&var=&hash=item258bc9da75 on some of the phones, they could possibly power the oculus rift, too. - MrMonkeybatExplorerSo basically you want what they had in the film Lawn Mower Man.
Maybe you could reprogram one of those exoskeletons the US ARMY is working on and sell it back to them as a simulator. - itstoxinHonored GuestInstead of a full suit, you could make gloves with movement sensors, so the hands within the game would move as you are.
