What is really going on with VR behind the scenes.

"The Japanese version of the Nvidia GTC event (Via VRWorld) was recently held and the company confirmed some previously leaked details about the upcoming Pascal GPUs. The next generation GP100 flagship will indeed boast HBM2 technology but will be limited to 16GB HBM2 with around 1TB/s of bandwidth at launch. The Tesla segment of Nvidia GPUs will also recieve NV link which will bypass the bottleneck of the PCI-e bus by using a custom interconnect that is roughly 5 times faster."
NVIDIA Says GameWorks VR Will Help Large Scale VR Adoption – Expects 25 Million PC Gamers To Adopt Virtual Reality
"In his conversation, Jason revealed that NVIDIA in contact with over 600 companies working on VR projects and that number is likely to increase. There are around two thousand startups and companies working over on VR right now and having 600 of those as partners is a major deal. This shows just how serious NVIDIA is taking VR right now as it will be one of the most major drivers for high-end and enthusiast based graphics cards. In the future, NVIDIA believes that VR would be more than just a platform for gamers, it will be one of the enabling technologies that offer a totally new way of social interaction among people."
Jesus.. yet Microsoft Holo... it seems like nothing is going on but it seems like the pool of devs is working around the clock for this launch and when the launch happens 90 FPS @ 4k sustained would be possible at probably under $1k..
prob doing the PS4 approach where they knew they would take loss per console but make money off royalties in the beginning
