Which is easier to work with: xbox or ps3 controller
Hi,
I looked through all the oculus rift video on youtube and i see everyone is using xbox360 wired controller
Is there something wrong with the PS3 controller, because I really prefer ps3 controller over xbox360.
The xbox360 is on sale right now on newegg for $26.99, FYI

- SiggiGProtegeLast time I knew there was no stable, official Windows driver for the PS3 controller. The Xbox controller just work and all Windows versions have drivers built-in.
- sthHonored GuestAs SiggiG already said: The 360 controller is supported natively on Windows. There are also drivers for Linux and Mac OS X. At this point, it feels as if it has become more or less the standard on the PC, with most games supporting it out-of-the-box.
I started with the PS3 controller myself, but I ran into some Bluetooth-related problems and also had to reconfigure every single game for it since the button mapping is way different. The reconfiguring itself can also be a bit tricky when the controller's motion sensor registers as an axis. ;)
Anyway, in the end I got a 360 wireless controller and don't regret it. It's well supported out-of-the-box almost everywhere and, personally, I find the PS3 controller's ergonomics a bit odd after using the 360 controller for a period of time*.
[Off-Topic] *Interestingly, the PS4 controller's side profile looks more similar to the 360 controller than the PS3 one. [/Off-Topic] - toiletpaperHonored GuestThanks for all your experiences. I guess i won't waste my time with my PS3 controller. I would rather waste my time playing with the Oculus Rift when I get it probably August :( can't wait.
I have a wireless xbox360 controller, so I will get a wireless receiver for around 12 bucks. I hope this will work as good as a wired xbox360 controller. - svenProtegeI still have a Xbox 1 controller, if I can get the driver to work with Windows 7 is there even a necessity to get a XBox 360 controller?
- Apparently you can use things like XBCD to get an xbox 1 controller working, although it would be easier to just use a 360 controller, they are natively supported in windows and many games.
