Will GTX 960 be able to run CV1?

I'm new to the world of VR and I want to buy a rift but my problem is that I won't be able to upgrade my GPU for a while (maybe Christmas I will). Will my GTX 960 be able to run Oculus Rift? I know it does say recommended GTX 970 however I'm here to see what you guys think (even personal experiences).

my build:
MSI  Nvidia GTX 960 gaming edition 2G
8GB RAM
i5 4690K @ 3.50 GHz

You might be able to run games like luckys tale, 360 video apps, and the lower processing power stuff but you wont get the best out of it until you get at least a 970 or above  :)

Put your rig through this as well to get an idea: http://store.steampowered.com/app/323910/

Thank you for responding, I did use that test and went ahead and bought myself the GTX 1070 :)
