Will Oculus Be Implementing A TRC/TCR Equivalent For Developers..?

As someone that has experience working with TRCs/TCRs years ago I was just wondering if Oculus would be implementing their own checklist system for Rift Standards..?

It would make submission of games and software much easier for developers and should make the submission process much easier. I know that a lot of Lead Testers complain about them but I had absolutely no problems with Standards Testing when I was working in the industry years ago.

Or does the SDK handle error messages and systems messages for bad tracking or flat batteries etc..?

  • Has there been any update about this? I've noticed that a month has passed without any word from Oculus.

    @snowdog & @ColinChangNT :

    The list Imperativity links to above is the entirety of our technical requirements for Rift apps.

    If you're coming from a console background, the brevity of the list may surprise you. But it really is all we ask for.

    So, while I may personally appreciate apps that have good handling for in-game exceptions such as controllers losing power or sensor cables getting pulled out, they aren't a requirement for Oculus Store apps and our Store Review team won't ding your app for not having them.

    Brilliant, thanks @imperativity and @metrocube that's exactly what I was looking for! Cheers!
