Wireless Rift.

On the off chance no one has tried it, I was wondering if you had thought about approaching the problem from another angle. Transfer the data as you would from a wireless Camera. Receiver and Sender. Like those used on drones.

Or would there be too much of a video delay or cost increase?

it works well except the usual tansceiver systems are limited to 60 fps (not even progressive but interlaced).
there are many cheap hdmi transceiver available especially here distance is not a problem.
do not forget you still have to send back the usb signal from the oculs to the pc.
wireless usb also exists, but the risk here is to introduce a delay between video and positional signal.
