After version 49, there is an urgent need for improved software features.

I have been in contact with Quest2 for 3 years, and the current system has been updated to version 49.

First of all, I am very grateful to have such a VR device that allows me to appreciate the shock of the metaverse. I have always spared no effort in recommending Quest to my friends.

However, Quest2's hardware is very good, but the software has always had some unbearable problems.

I have been looking for related feature settings since 2 years ago, but there is no result.

In the column of all applications in the main control room, there are a large number of invalid or even disgusting records.

These application records include uninstalled, not installed, usage tutorials, etc. Although I can switch to the installed column, the primary usage tutorials that cannot be hidden and some application icons that cannot be used at all still cause me a lot of trouble.

As an old Quest player, there is really no need to repeatedly display various elementary tutorials on the interface, and the menu switching back and forth is also very cumbersome.

When sharing or recommending devices with friends, complicated and invalid records will seriously interfere with the interactive experience of newcomers. I couldn't point to the screen and tell him which features worked and which apps didn't.

Today, closed systems like the iPhone are open to a very high degree of freedom. Users can even delete system function components such as calls and calculators, and choose to install them when needed, which greatly enhances the customization properties of the entire product and user experience.

Therefore, I once again strongly recommend that product managers pay attention to Quest's system interaction experience and optimize the following points.

1. Upgrade the application management function so that it can delete or hide unnecessary application records in the main control window;

2. Unify all kinds of elementary tutorials in one column or application software, which is convenient for viewing in order;

3. For applications from unknown sources, the function of customizing labels or names can be given, which is convenient for users to manage;

4. Optimize the function and interface of Bluetooth connection. The interface of existing Bluetooth connection headsets, handles and other devices is too simple and lacks interaction;

5. Add a darker main control room scene to ease the visual fatigue during night operation;

The above are some of my suggestions for the current version 49 software. I hope that product managers and software engineers can consider it as appropriate and add functions in subsequent iterative updates.

In my country, VR devices like Quest are currently only popular in a small circle of gamers, and there are already network barriers in use, and there are devices like Pico that imitate Quest in China, so the user experience of Quest is particularly important. The interface settings with a higher degree of freedom can better maintain the stickiness between products and users.

I sincerely hope that Meta, who brought me into the VR world, can become the rule maker of the Metaverse.
