Alpha Channel Apps not showing on tester devices

Have been navigating this issue for quite some time wanted to know if other devs are encountering it as well.

- Alpha Channel invites to testers sent, testers never receive email invite

- Even if testers receive invites and accept them, preview app fails to show up on their devices

- Adding to developer org and then subscribing testers works sometimes, sometimes does not work

There seems to be a lot of inconsistency with these services, or am I the only one still facing this. Perhaps I am missing out on something. I even went ahead and ensured dev mode is enabled on every device (in the case that alpha channel builds require dev mode although I doubt they do).

Any Insight would be appreciated!

  • Hi did you ever get this issue resolved as I am having the same issues? I'll push an app to a number of devices, the invite is accepted, and some users receive the app while some don't, makes no sense.

    Thanks

    Chris

Yeah, I have the same issue lately for some test users. They get the invitation and accept it. But then it does not show up in App Library. What to do?

  • Hello. I'm having similar issues for a few weeks now and it's very problematic as we often use this function to work.

Before I would send invitations via the Oculus dev Dashboard to the meta accounts. They would accept the invitation and find our App directly ready to be installed on their headset.

Then few months ago, in many cases the headset wouldn't offer to download and install directly anymore. Need to go through the App store and search for the EXACT app name to be able to find it and install it.

And now, since a few weeks, impossible to even find the shared app through the store. Sometimes waiting for a few days or trying multiple times to cancel invite + resent + accept again would work. Sometimes nothing helps and the headset simply never sees the wanted app. If so, we need to go through unlocking dev mode and installing via the APK which is overly complicated.

  • We had the same issue.  I am not sure why when you invite someone, there is no email being sent. The only way that works for us is to go thru the store using the meta quest app. Last time we hade to push the test release channel over the production channel,  because it was the only way to test it. I don't like to do this, even if we do a quick hour test and revert back to the previous live channel afterward this is not really test friendly and really not safe.
