App Lab Needing EIN number

I want to update my Alpha game on App Lab. It is now asking me to verify my business. I am an Indie developer. I don't have a business or an EIN number. Does this mean that I can't upload my games to App Lab anymore?

  • I got confused about this, too a month or so ago. As a developer, Meta can verify you in one of two ways: as a "company" (where you need a letterhead / facility billing / EIN etc), OR... if you are an individual (like you and me) they can verify you as an individual if you are an admin in the Meta developer portal for the organization you set up. In this case, I think you just need a photo of your ID (which is what I sent in). They may have added additional requirements by now, but I'm sure you're not gonna need an EID or tax number.

When I did it, the company verification was the first choice, and just under that was the individual option. I don't recall the wording of it - but it wasn't worded well and it wasn't clear that you had two options. I can't provide a screenshot to clarify because I'm already verified so it isn't giving me the option anymore. I hope this helps.

I have sent my Drivers License scanned 3 time. I have taking a picture of it 2 times and I have sent a picture of my Passport. Nothing seems to work. My name on my Drivers License is Jimmy D Scogin, but my Oculus account it JD Scogin. Is that why it keeps saying the pictures are too blurry, etc. I am not sure what else to do.

Yep, that was it. I changed my name on my Meta account, resent passport and was verified is about 10 minutes.

  • Thanks so much. I saw the Admin Verification, but I thought I had to do both. Thanks Again!

  • Glad you finally got it to work. It's kind of frustrating how Meta releases functionality to the public before its tested. Just about everything they do or release, they never have the process ready, or the documentation correct/complete, or the headset feature working correctly. πŸ˜•
