5 years agoAudio Latency too high on Oculus Browser of Quest 2
I don't know if this is a forum where Oculus inside team checks, but I'll report this here once anyway, no other place to say this a
I mean the Oculus Browser. Not talking about the Quest 2 native apps.
If I check the "AudioContext.baseLatency" value in Quest 2's Oculus Browser, it reports 10X latency of Quest 1's Oculus Browser.
Quest 1 reports 0.004. Quest 2 reports around 0.045, but I suspect it's around 0.2
Also in reality, it results in a noticeably late sound effect playback. Impossible to use for any user reaction sound effects (like musical instrument simulators)
I don't understand how this could happen in a superior hardware. Can something be done about this?

- meduzoExplorerThis has happened to my virtual instruments and might affect my next vr music game development... Is there an update coming soon?
One of my vr instruments can be tested at:
vr-marimba dot meduzo dot repl dot co (I can't post links)
Please anyone at Oculus take a look at this
