Do headset tracking works better with Black and White Cameras

I am curious but I notice lots of headsets still use black and white cameras alongside a color camera. I was wondering if there was a reason behind this. Perhaps tracking is better or perhaps can only be done with those black and white cameras. If so, I wonder why that may be.
