Oculus link not working
Whenever I try to launch Oculus Link from my Oculus to play games from SteamVR and Oculus, it just gets stuck on the 3 dots loading screen. I've tried updating my drivers, I've tried updating my computer to Windows 11, I've looked up YouTube videos and nothing has worked. Anyone got any ideas? It would be much appreciated

Ive got the EXACT same problem!
All I get in the headset is 3 loading dots and black. Its worked before. When i move the headset around the image on the steam app doesn't change. I get steamVR to connect, but it shows a static image of the SteamVR home screen, like im passed out on the floor, and my right controller works, but i cant click anything. Still the three dots in the headset.
System; Legion 7, ryzen 5800, 3080 16 gb, 32gb ram
Ive "repaired" oculus software on laptop, no change.
Uninstalled and reinstalled SteamVR, no change.
Using a cable that is 5 Mbps, everything is green in the oculus app. the cable has worked before.
All software and Nvidia drivers up to date
Air link wont work either. i find my pc in the list under "air link" and click the highlighted blue "pair" and then nothing happens.
steps i follow
1 I plug the USB 3.0 cable in the Quest 2.
2 I put the headset over my eyes and click "allow" or whatever the positive answer is at the prompt about sharing files with the computer. (I've seen tutorials saying that pressing "deny" is the preferrable option. I've however been pressing "allow" since forever with no issues, and pressing "deny" didn't do anything different either.)
3 I get to the Oculus Home and open the quick settings menu (pressing the clock/battery/notification icon block at the far left of the task bar). I'd like to mention that prior to opening the settings, I get the usual notification over the task bar that oculus link is available in the settings.
4 I click on the large "oculus link" block next to the Wi-Fi and Guardian ones of the same size.
Screen turns black, the three dots loading loop appears to indicate that it's loading.
I can sit there for 10 mins, no change.
Right now the only option i can think of is a factory reset, but what if its something ont he PC that's corrupted? how the hell could i find that?!
HELP!
even tried a facotry reset of the headset, no change.

I've not had these kind of issues for a long while, but I do occasionally still need to restart my PC and/or my Quest.
If Airlink does work perhaps a new cable is required. I've such problems in the past and have needed to replace my cable with a newer/better one. They can become damaged with use over time.
No, air link doesn't work. Could you do me a Favour and describe exactly how you start up Steam VR? Does it differ from the way ive describe mine above?

I don't use Steam VR sorry, although I probably should give it a go. What I describe is mostly when using link for Unity development.

Good luck with this, it's one of the most frustrating things that can happen, and you can feel totally powerless at times!
I think I just managed to solve it.
I was googling about it, seeing that people were reinstalling their Nvidia drivers. I did that to no avail. Then I saw that people were saying to make sure that the link uses the dedicated graphics card, not the integrated one. I didn't think that applied to me because the legion 7 doesn't have an integrated GC, only the 3080 dedicated. BUt i went in to the device manager and checked just in case, under display drivers. I see my Nvidia chip, but I also see an AMD radeon in there! I disabled that and bob's your uncle, it worked! I have no idea why that was there, as this is an nvidia machine, but there you go. Maybe it can help someone else. Have you heard of anything similar before?

Glad you sorted it out!
Now you mention it, I have heard similar but had forgotten as it did not affect me. I have a Legion 5 Pro, so a similar set up, that only shows the 3070 in the device manager. The AMD Radeon must have been disabled as I don't remember doing this myself.
