I don't want you to feel like I'm roasting you, but your machine specs are perplexing. You have a 1 year old CPU, a 5 year old integrated Intel GPU and no USB 3.0 at all? I don't think it's possible for a machine built in the last 4 years to not have USB 3.0 ports. You may not have USB C ports, but that's different.
You should take a look at these videos. This guy reviews a bunch of cables that are compatible with Quest Link. You have to keep in mind that a USB A -> USB C cable you're using to charge your phone probably isn't going to work, because they're not designed for data transmission, but there are USB 3.0 A -> C cables that will work.

Also, keep in mind that if you get a new GPU you'll probably need a new power supply, and the power supply may not fit in the case, and this is going to become an expensive slippery slope trying to upgrade this machine.
