Program runs with 90/180/270 degree rotation for no reason
I have an C app based on the Native/vrapi SDK (using the open source engine LOVR.ORG). It has been working more or less fine for a couple years. In the last month, I have stared seeing an unusual...

Update from my investigation: One of the Quest VRCs
https://developer.oculus.com/resources/vrc-quest-functional-9/
Makes reference to the "stage" tracking mode. It appears "stage" is still supported. So the question stands: Why does stage content sometimes appear at a random multiple-of-90-degrees offset? Can a game correct for it? (And is there any way for a game to react when the hold-oculus-button-down "recenter" gesture is entered?)

2 years later I'm still struggling with the same issue. I suspect it's using the play area, which is a rectangle fit on the boundary points. The problem is that the stupid way it works depends again on your currently recentered camera, which makes it circular. Basically it tries to fit the rectangle from the vantage point of your new orientation, so sometimes it'll swap the height with the width. To make things worse, the option to get the boundary points themselves instead of a poorly fit rectangle has been... deprecated. So it seems OpenXR and Meta does not want people to save their previous world origin and orientation.

Hey MartinFnitraM! We hate to hear that you're still having issues with your guardian's boundary. We totally understand your frustration after two years of having the same issue. Not to worry, let's try to get this resolved fast! If you could please try the following for us:
- Disable and reenable the guardian.
- Clear guardian history.
- Stand as close as possible to the center of the intended play area when drawing your Guardian boundary.
- Look around the room when drawing your boundary. Only looking in one direction while drawing your boundary reduces the likelihood of remembering your Guardian in the future.
- Ensure that you have appropriate lighting but avoid direct sunlight in your play area. If you can read a book in your play area, that's sufficient.
- Always make sure the area within the Guardian system boundary is clear of hazards and obstacles.
- Factory reset your device.
Please let us know if this worked for you.
