Quest 3 Hand Tracking via Oculus Link and Unreal doesn't work

Hey,

no matter what I do, the Quest 3 Hand Tracking only works when using Quick Launch (which takes a long time, not suitable for rapid development), not via VR Preview / Oculus Link.

I'm on Windows 11 using Unreal Engine 5.2.1.

Anyone know how to fix this?

  • Hello I have the exact same problem. Win 11 quest 3 etc. Did you solve this? I am using the unreal oculus fork and the handgameplay project.

    Hey guys, 

    We recently smashed up against this problem, when we had this option working on our home machine, but not working on the office rigs. This might only be applicable for PCVR, but... we had to enable either the link cable or airlink connection to a PC that had Oculus software on it that was signed in to an account that was a developer account AND had an organisation specified for it.
    Then, in the Quest 2/3 launch Link (Airlink or cable link), then hit the play in VR button. 
    For reference, your Oculus software, settings page, on your dev machine, should look like the attached. 
    It's the developer runtime features that enable hand tracking for dev purposes.
