Software requires root access

Another problem with a rooted Quest:
Your account has to be secure but with an unsecure headset this won't work.
Means Meta can lock you out from purchases or accessing game servers.
If your device/account gets crippled you might run into other issues as well.
Like a lot of the backend stuff relying on a secure bootloader and refusing to work without it.
In the best case you will probably get excluded from OTA updates and since Meta does not offer any manual options you can get stuck on old firmware.
And IF you get full access by rooting the headset - how exactly do you want to edit/change the Android system - it is secured as well....
One mistake and you have a brick you can't recover from.
So far there is no custom recovery available and no option to restore a NAND backup if the headset is bricked.
Making it pretty much a one way ticket - and all this for ONE app ?
