0.4.1 Two game tabs not possible

Before 0.4.1 I was able to have two game tabs running in Unity. Now one of them just turns black upon entering "Play" mode.

Thanks for tips

Possibly related to my issue? (viewtopic.php?f=37&t=12449)

How did you get 2 game tabs? I can only get 1 game view at a time...

To get two game tabs you simple right-click on an existing one's title (e.g. "Scene" of the scene tab) and choose "Add Tab".
  • Excellent, thank you.

Can confirm this is *not* related to my other issue. I have further determined my issue is when the Game tab is in a floating window rather than the main Unity display. If I have 2 game tabs, 1 floating and 1 fixed the fixed on works and the floating one is Gray.
  • Are you sure? Prior to 0.4 SDK I was able to run multiple game views, but in both 0.4 and 0.4.1 I can only run 1, all subsequent game views show black. (This is in extended desktop mode, DX11 disabled, Free Aspect ratio mode, etc).
  • Same problem here. I never used 0.4, went straight to 0.4.1 so I spent quite some time today trying to make it work following tutorials.
I gave up after a while... Sorry I can't give any tips.

    Hello everybody.
I am new to the forum and I am working on a FPS stealth game with Oculus DK2.

I also have the same problem with multiple game tabs in unity.
Basically, on my Oculus everything runs jsut fine, but let's say that, to test/debug my gameplay I want an extra game tab on my main screen (and I switch from a regular Unity camera to the Oculus one regarding what I want to test/debug).

It seems that the moment i add an extra tab my Oclus screen's game tab gets weird.
Plus, results vary when i change the resolution on the game tab on my main screen or if i "attach" it to the editor or just let it float around as a detached window.

Weird right? Any updates on this issue? cause this makes the test/debug process really painful...
  • Sorry, there is still a known issue when you use multiple Game views at once. We are working directly with Unity to make the editor experience better.
