Anyone having luck with realspace3daudio? I get no sound...

Has anyone had luck with the RealSpace 3D audio plugin for Unity?

Here's my problem, using:

Mac OS X 10.9.5
Latest Unity (Free)
Latest downloads from http://realspace3daudio.com

I followed their instruction/tutorial PDF very carefully to create a brand new project, import their terrain demo, entered my license key into the 3D Audio Listener script (see attached screenshot.)

But when I play the game, I can walk around the terrain, but there's no sound. Doesn't matter if I hit the "T" key or not.

I know sound normally works fine because of my experiments with the regular tuscany demo Oculus distributes.

The realspace instructions said to make sure that there's a regular Unity Audio Listener script -- I double checked, and it's right there on the Main Camera as well. Screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ijgxtaqbzuatsex/terrain-setup.png?dl=0

Same problem trying to start with a blank project, import realspace3d_v0.9.8.unitypackage, and add a 3D listener and player.

Anybody else experienced this and fixed the problem? I've emailed their support as well.

Any tips on how to get audio working?

  • Does the plugin use a DLL? Because I think that only works on Unity Pro.

Do you get any errors in the Unity console?

Ah, I didn't think to check the console. You're absolutely right. "License error. This plugin is only supported in Unity Pro!"

Thank you for illuminating something that their documentation did not mention.
