Anyway to improve distant object focus?
I've noticed that while near objects appear nice and sharp as they have more resolution I guess, distant objects appear blurry.
Not just that they have fewer pixels but are actually blurry.
Is this a result of the distortion shader?
If you watch this capture from my game and take note of the Terrain in the distance or any distant objects they appear reasonably sharp given their resolution but when wearing the rift they don't retain this clarity.

- drashHeroic ExplorerI tried watching this fullscreen in 720p going back and forth between viewing it on my monitor and viewing it inside the Rift. I'm actually not quite sure I know specifically what you're referring to. A lot of the distant terrain details look to me like ridges and shadows and they look fairly smooth and rounded both ways. I'm guessing this is why it looks not so well-defined inside the Rift -- because it's rounded, pixels are separated by a screendoor, and because you're viewing those pixels in the Rift much closer than your usual monitor-viewing distance. I could be wrong though. Maybe you could post a timestamp from your video, and a screenshot with a circle around exactly the sort of detail you're talking about?
As far as suggestions go, maybe something to increase the contrast of the terrain (without destroying your depth cues from looking through miles of atmosphere). I'm not sure how you'd do that though.
In any case, I had fun watching this through the Rift. Looking good! :) - sh0v0rProtege

Thanks Mate, I can't wait to let you guys try it!
I found out what my issue was, I am using a shader for my glass which does some fancy refraction and reflection stuff and it turns out it was making things appear blurrier. I drop down to a less expensive one now that doesn't have those effects and its as sharp as I would expect it to be.
