Asset store: Selling a package with Oculus Unity integration

Hello,

We are creating a rather comprehensive VR development platform: http://ruisystem.net/
It's free and open source, but we consider putting a premium version of it into Unity Asset store.

Right now we are adding Rift support for our platform. I want to make sure that the Oculus license ( https://developer.oculusvr.com/license ) allows us to include the contents of OculusUnityIntegration.unitypackage into our package that in a later date would be sold in Unity asset store for a price. Is this right?

The Oculus SDK code within our platform would be used only with Oculus Rift (and no 3rd party HMDs).

  • Using the Oculus SDK with a commercial, closed-source, game or application is totally fine.

However, things can get a little tricky if your project is open-source, as your open-source license may conflict with the Oculus license. Specifically, I know that GPL is not compatible with Oculus. I am not a lawyer, though, so please do your own research.

    Thanks for the clarification cybereality!

Good point about the open-source license. I'll do my best to make sure that the license that we choose will not interfere or extend over the libraries that we are using.
