Bug with rotation in animations?
Hey all,
Made an animation via unity animator yesterday and eventually debugged the issue and found that as soon as I did any rotation transforms in my animation the whole gameobject would disappear.
It would rotate and be animated fine in the game scene when running it in unity but as soon as i bring it over to the gear vr it fails to render.
I thought maybe it was being reported somewhere and when I attached the OVR camera to the gameobject I was trying to animate. I just ended up in a random space with no other objects and the object I attached the camera to was still not rendered. or simply missing.
Please help, anyone else having issues with rotating transform in animations?
Thanks,
HK

- cyberealityGrand ChampionI'm not sure I've heard of this before.
Can you send me a minimal example project that has the issue and I'll see if someone can take a look? - HKSpadezHonored Guestsent =)
- javinairHonored GuestHi there,
We have the same problem. We've made an animation in a gameobject, this gameobject is attached to the CenterEyeAnchor of an OVRCamera. When I play this animation through an animator (with a trigger) it plays perfectly in the editor. But the problem appears when I run it in the GearVR, the whole gameobject dissapears while the animation is supposedly playing.
We are using Unity 5.0.3f4 and OculusUtilites 0.1.3b.
Thanks in advance. - khybotHonored Guestsame problem here. I have a cube that is animated in unity with transforms and rotation. looks fine in unity but disappears in vr.
transforms animate and show up fine though. - HKSpadezHonored Guesthey cyber. any update regarding this issue?
thanks - cyberealityGrand ChampionI sent your test file to engineering, but I haven't heard back yet.
- viewportProtegeSame here...
- HKSpadezHonored GuestHey all,
Seems like it was a unity bug.
http://unity3d.com/unity/qa/patch-releases/5.3.1p3
This patch should fix it according to them. - DonyTamazoneExplorerSame kind of problem here :
My camera is a child of an animated vehicle (animation start on load) :
- When the animation of the object is not rotating the GearVR build is Okay and the scene load as in the editor but when it rotates I don't see anything on load just the color of the background (from camera) while in the editor it run, and I can enjoy the ride.
The conclusion is clear after many tests :
_ animated parent without rotations = OK
_ animated parent with rotations = I see nothing
So I feel lost after trying many parameters in many options...
And the unity update to 5.3.1p3 from 5.3.1p1 doesn't resolve anything. So I'll keep trying !
Please help us ! I'am about to finish Androids Dream but it seems that every update (unity, runtimes, sdks etc...) kick my work away  - vrdavebOculus StaffI think the case number you are waiting for is 759408. That does not appear to be fixed in 5.3.1p3, but Unity is aware of it.
