DirectToRift white screen with 0.4.3.1 Beta

We (and some other developers) are now getting a white screen when running a DirectToRift on PC published from Unity 4.6.

Is there a workaround for this?

  • Can you give me more information about your setup? OS version, GPU, GPU driver version, etc.?

Did you do anything prior to the white screen thing happening (i.e. updating drivers, hardware, etc.)?
  • We updated Kira (https://share.oculus.com/app/kira) from 4.2. The Mac version runs fine.

    Machine:
    Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
    Core i7 3840, 8GB ram
    ATI FirePro M4000
    Driver version 9.10.0.0, rev.. Nov 6, 2012
    Oculus Runtime 0.4.3

I can query another studio for their specs as well as I know we are not alone with this issue.
  • Just updated the video driver on that box and now we are getting a crash:

  • Can I ask why your video driver is from 2 year ago? That could be a problem.
  • I'm getting the same issue. DirectToRift stoppped working after updating to 0.4.3 (my firmware was already up-to-date before this 2.12).

All that happens is a white screen appears with the text at the bottom (Mirror to Window: Off). And then an error pop appears:
“There is a problem with your Rift configuration. Interfering software is preventing the Rift from activating. Loaded UMD is reported as ‘nvumdshim.dll’”

    0.4.3 - Firmware 2.12 - Windows 8.1 64-bit
    Alienware 17
    Intel Core i7-4700MQ 2.4GHz
    nVidia GeForce GTX 765M
    All drivers are up-to-date.
