13 years agoDoes LensCorrection only work with rift plugged in?
I do not have a Rift plugged in and the "Lens Correction" option in the OVRCamera does not seem to change anything. Image Pro effects are imported.
So my quick question:
Do I need to have a Rift plugged in to see an effect?

- drashHeroic ExplorerThat is correct, there is no lens correction unless you have a Rift plugged in. This is because the Unity integration is querying the Rift for distortion coefficients so that it knows what kind of lens correction to do. If you need to see what it looks like without having a Rift handy, you can temporarily modify the OVR script code (somewhere) to return hardcoded coefficients (and a hardcoded distortion scale). I'm not at home so I can't recall the specifics, but that's basically what I did for a month or so before getting my Rift.
- WadeWattsHonored GuestThanks for explaining this! I am developing without the Rift right now and I was wondering about the distortion in the OVR code not showing. My Rift should arrive soon so it will be a moot point, but I am almost done with my level one in the Rift game project! Hurrah for the RIFT and Unity!
