Don't Upgrade To Unity 4.3 Yet
Drash and I both ran into the same issue after upgrading to Unity 4.3. The game runs fine in the editor, but when it is built it runs very slowly. This isn't specific to Rift projects either. I get the issue even on the AngryBots example project. I posted on the Unity forums and hopefully someone can find a solution (http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/210543-4-3-Standalone-Builds-Really-Poor-Performance). Until then, it would be best to stick to 4.2.

- boone188Honored GuestA lot of people are confirming it's an issue (http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/210548-Help-with-confirming-bug-needed-Lower-FPS-in-Unity-4-3) so it should get fixed pretty quickly.
- MarbasHonored GuestIs the slowdown related to Oculus Rift apps only or any apps?

Any app, not just Rift apps, so they're probably fixing it right now. - cyberealityGrand ChampionThanks for the heads-up!
- vrkarlHonored GuestI was just about to upgrade and figured I should check here first.
Thanks for saving me the frustration of troubleshooting! - boone188Honored Guest

With my [comparatively boring] job, it's hard to get a good 3-4 hours to work on [really exciting] Rift projects. Yesterday I wasted most of those hours upgrading/downgrading to 4.3 and I wanted to help others to avoid that pitfall. If I was able to save one dev from going through that hassle, then it was definitely worth it. - dbuckHonored GuestOuch thats painful, thanks for the heads up. I was just looking into getting my 'play project' kit back up to current versions all around (so to speak) after being away for a while.

This sounds all too familiar. I wish my day job involved Unity or something!
