Expose list of profiles from Config Utility?

Hi, are there any plans to allow us to access the list of stored user profiles from within Unity? If not, is it something that could be added in a future SDK version?

The default profile is already picked up automatically, so providing a list of available profiles 'in-game' to pick from shouldn't be that difficult right?

It just seems a bit convoluted at the moment:
  • Run the config util

  • Select profile

  • Check 'Use as default profile'

  • Close config util (otherwise headtracking in Unity won't work)

  • Run demo

  • Repeat all of the above to change profile back

I admit I don't need to change profiles that often, but surely having the profile list exposed in Unity is a much more seamless way of doing it? Ultimately, it needs to be easy for the end user doesn't it?

Cheers

  • Good question. I think it's something we are looking at, but I don't know when it will be available.
  • Thanks for the reply. Hopefully it can go into the 'suggestion box' then!
  • I was wondering if there's any news on this kind of feature, It would be so great to be able to pick different profiles from within our games / applications from the lists of profiles in the config menu so players wouldn't have to setup IPD profiles for every game they play, they would all use the system profiles. I would love to integrate a feature like this now, is there a way to access this data I'm not aware of? Thanks
