  • Hi

I think there is none; What I did is I set my Rift to Extend Desktop mode (I have the DK1), then expand the "Game" window on the relevant desktop. It's not great, but it works ok.

If you really need to test it on the Oculus, I see no other solution than building the game and launch the "DirectToRift" exe.
  • Hi
yes i have the rift as extended display, but it won't play the detached game view tab when i shift it over to the rift screen. Instead it plays the scene view and the game view is stuck.

Ya i've benn taking the build route, but the next problem is that built apps sometimes accept the DirctToRift and sometimes not and just stay on the main screen no matter what. That halts the production process unfortunately :((

Been wondering if there is a solid info on these serious rift display problems, that explain the reason and the solution ??
  • Are you using DX11? It may help to switch to DX9. You can do that in Player Settings/Other by unchecking "Enable Direct3D 11".

We are working on the editor experience. Today we render over the Game view from our plugin and the viewport isn't always reliable. Even if it was, the Game view usually refreshes at 60 frames per second, which is slower than DK2, and includes a border. We are planning to make it render full-screen on the Rift without any manual wrangling of the Game view window.
