Ghosting Issue with DK2 / 0.4.4?
I'm updating my old VR project from DK1->DK2 and I just got a new computer with latest SDK 0.4.4, and DK2 and and firmware 2.12. I haven't been keeping up to much on Rift dev the last few months so forgive if my issue is common / easily fixed. In fact I'd prefer it if that were the case :)
Loading up Tuscany demo in DirectToRift mode I see ghosting when I look at the tall trees with the sky in the background and move my head horizontally. The effect seems to happen when colors that are next to each other are very much contrasted light/dark. Unfortunately it's very obvious in my scenes.
It happens on static objects when I shake my head even slightly. Has this come up before? I'm just going through the forums now. Also, I'm currently not using positional tracking, in case that might be an issue. Under the gun as I have a demo coming up next week.
Thanks,
Jesse

- cyberealityGrand ChampionYes, this is a common issue and is a side-effect of the technology used on the panel.
Most people are calling it "black smear", you can probably search and find a bunch of topics on it.
There are ways to reduce it with post-effects, but it probably can't be fixed completely with software.
