How do I keep the Drive to finish my planned VR Game when there are Many Assets i must prepare?

First my game is gonna be like a real life game .open world.  And i have to  deal and implement the Head look thing(ther'es a plugin for that and i've tested it and made changes to it and it kind of works but i need more practice)where characters from the game turn their heads to look at you.

Then i got to deal with motion sickness and i'm not exactly sure how.

But the most dreading thing is having to prepare the characters. I want many characters in my game. Some good, some enemies. But since there's no simple direct way to import them prepared( I'm using DAZ characters) it's taking so long to prepare the characters. At least i need to have 20 at a time on an outdoor level. and those are the good guys just moving around and interacting with you if you ask them something or somehting.

But then there's the enemies which i'll spawn.

Anyways, for every character i import i got to first dress them differently, make sure no poke through, and like i said it's not just one. It's many characters dressed in different outfits. And since the eyes don't translate well to Unity and you have to make a bunch of changes you have to fix them for every single one of your characters.

That's tedious. I bought a product for real eyes to replace daz eyes. it's great but you still got to exchange eyes for everysingle character you bring in.

Moreover, daz characters don't tend to be able to become prefabs. So you got to do the whole thing all over again for every scene. You gotta swap eyes, correct some things etc.

It's not a huge game but i want population to interact with plus Enemies . And plus i got to put the VR Head look onto everyone of the characters so they can turn their heads and look at me.

should i just take it slow.....and don't worry so much about finishing fast?

It's just a hobby i'm not selling it or anything.
  • if this is you first game then for sure start basic.

Make a new level and bring in the OVR player and get that working.

Buy some asset packs from the store. Most are reasonable and will save you tonnes of time.
Its quite fulfilling makings small levels an exploring in VR

started there and see if it is working. if so add more later.

Forget multiplayer for now. If you cant get single play working then multiplay will be to hard.
If eventualy get to multiplay, photon PUN for unity is a simple start. There are examples and docs. But if you are not a c# coder then it could be tough going.
