How to get hand velocity on the Quest?

When using hand tracking is there a way to get the hand velocity as you can do with the touch controller?

    I was told that in the new Unity input system has values for Velocity: Action type is value, control type is Vector3. Then under binding it is XR Controller > choose hand > Optional controls > deviceVelocity
    I set it up but the values are always 0
    what should I do for getting these values?

  • You can check your hand position in an FixedUpdate then divide every component by your timestep (default value is 0.02) and put them in a Vector3. You will have your velocity value in every directions !
