Individual lens flares
I don't expect any answer, honestly.
The quesiton is, how do I select individual lens flare textures for individual cameras? My main two cameras are the character so they have "standard" retina overbright flares, but some other cameras are sort of security cameras, and I want them to have these notorious camera lens flares. From the same light sources, of course. My first idea was to keep track of flare-emitting light sources to change the flare texture right before rendering, but that seems like an overkill.

One way to do it would be to create a separate layer for each flare then set the camera layer visibility for each eye. - raidho36ExplorerI was kinda hoping to use the same lens flare object.
Now that I dig into it, standard lens flare don't posess the functionality I want, so I'm just gonna write my own post-effect flares. - owenwpExpert ProtegeIf you want that level of detail you might want to use HDR lighting, then give your light sources very bright emissive materials. That will allow you much more control over how each camera interacts with light using post fx.
- racoon1211Honored GuestJust one question:
Why should you add Lens Flares to a VR Game at all?
Think about it, because lensflares are not a natural effect you could see with your own eyes, they only appear when looking through a camera. So if you add them you'd just make it look artificial and take away any natural immersion.
Sorry if this is hard to read, english is not my native language ^^' - LaneHonored Guest

Do you ever look at car headlights? Or tail lights at night?.... Ever?.... - racoon1211Honored GuestYup, not lensflares at all, do you have artificial eyes?
Do you even know what lens flares are?

I know exactly what lens flares are and I do not have artificial eyes. - racoon1211Honored GuestThen you know that Lens Flares only appear if you look through a camera - it's impossible to see them with your own eyes because they are a reflection within artificial lens systems. The Human eyes simply CAN'T produce this kind of effect.

Do you ever look at car headlights, tail lights, or street lights at night? - racoon1211Honored GuestOf course, but I've NEVER seen "Lens Flares" because it's biological impossible!
Just because you're keep asking this proves me that you DON'T know what lens flares are.
Maybe you get dazzled by the bright lights, but you'll never see lens flares.
