Yes, you can do this. The preferred method is to have multiple computers networked together.
No you can't. I'm not referring to online multiplayer gaming or even local LAN; but only locally on one machine as There isn't support for one monitor camera, and a VR camera to exist in the same scene and play locally on one machine for games that would want to have that. There is only a nasty multiple monitor setup hack for unity like what was done in this game

That is mainly because changing your unity game to : "Virtual realty supported" makes every camera in a scene a rift camera. There is no way to have one camera be the monitor and one just for the rifts display. Think of the Wii-U's a symetrical gameplay where on one machine there is games like my cops and robbers description but one camera in a scene for the TV and one for the Wii-U gamepad. That is how the PS4 games at E3 worked with the morphises HMD as well, with all 5 players on one PS4 with the 5th on the HMD here is a video:

Not to mention two VR cameras in one scene with two Oculus rifts plugged into the same machine doesn't work ether. I'm wondering if you misinterpreted what I meant by multiplayer in this thread? There is even others threads that talk about how this hack doesn't even work anymore with the new integration like this one

I think Oculus/Unity are missing a really cool possibility of fun gameplay around these types of games without intregration for this.
