Oculus Runtime Env 3 Lowering Performance

Hi.

I don't know whether anyone is having this trouble, or whether it is limited to Unity builds, but I have found that the latest version of the Oculus Runtime Environment does not run my Unity applications very well at all.

I was getting ~30-40 Frames a Second.

At first I thought it was a problem with the new SDK 0.4.3, or I'd forgotten to change a setting.

However, I reinstalled the older version (4.2, or 2), and now I'm getting the right performance. In fact I'm getting better performance with the new SDK.

I have installed the latest runtime env multiple times, and it's the same problem every time.

Is it a bug or is there setting in the new Runtime Environment I'm not checking?

    That sounds exactly like this (look for my post where I discovered it was the runtime not the SDK that was causing issue):

    Devs have found issue and expect a patch release in 1-2 weeks.
  • Ah OK. Thanks for letting me know. I will probably stick to the previous version until the patch is released
