Just saw this post of the Fantastic Contraption guys, imagined some truly awesome teamplay mechanics and started searching for it. Hopefully we could get such a feature.
@MikeF: In the meantime you could start experimenting with the SteamVR integration. Disable "SteamVR_GameView" Component on the camera rig, drag in another camera and tadaaa :)
