OVRMonoscopic Does Not Appear To Work
I'm working in Unity 5.2.1f1 with Oculus Utilities 5.0.1.2.0 beta, building for GearVR.
I'm not currently able to enable monoscopic mode. There is a utility script in OVR/Moonlight/Scripts/Utils/OVRMonoscopic which toggles monoscopic mode by setting the value of OVRManager.instance.monoscopic when a gamepad button is pressed. I see that the value is being set, but it has no effect.
Is this simply broken, or am I missing something?

- cyberealityGrand ChampionThe recommended Unity version now is Unity 5.2.2f1.
However, I recall the monoscopic flag was broken for a while. I can check to see if it was fixed or not. - PixelRouterExplorerThanks Cyber!
Also, when using the Oculus Utilities and the OVRCameraRig, I thought we were supposed to disable the "Virtual Reality Supported" option in Player settings, but now whenever I do that, it automatically checks back on. Is this an Android specific thing? - drashHeroic Explorer

I know there was originally some confusion over that checkbox, but I believe it's working as intended these days. The whole point of Oculus Utilties is to sit on top of Unity's built-in VR functionality, for both PC and Gear VR. - cyberealityGrand ChampionSelecting the "Virtual Reality Supported" is what makes the game in VR, so, yeah, you want that enabled.
- PixelRouterExplorerI found the source of my confusion over "Virtual Reality Supported". In the first version of the Oculus Utilities, the docs say,
However, projects built with old versions of our Unity Integration will work normally if Unity VR support is disabled by deselecting Virtual Reality Supported in Player Settings.
I misread that. Now it makes sense. - PixelRouterExplorerI've done some more investigation and this does appear to be broken.
I updated to 5.2.2p3. I know you said 5.2.2f1 is the current recommended versions, but I saw that p3 came out a couple days later and has VR updates and fixes listed. Are there known problems with this patch release?
I put debug messages in OvrManager and I see that OvrPlugin.monoscopic is being toggled, but this has no effect. - drashHeroic ExplorerA new Oculus Utilities 0.1.3.0 is up.
Restored ability to toggle settings such as monoscopic rendering and position tracking.
You'll probably need to be on 5.2.2p2 for that to work though, according to this. - PixelRouterExplorerJust grabbed the latest Utilities and also 5.2.2p2. No go. Toggling mono still has no effect.
Has anyone ever gotten mono to work in any Unity 5/OVR combination?
I'm really hoping this can be fixed pretty quickly. - vrdavebOculus StaffThis regressed sometime around 5.1.3p2. We are looking at a fix, but there isn't an ETA yet. Probably 4-6 weeks out.
- PixelRouterExplorerWow, that's a big blow to my immediate timeline.
Is this broken in the most recent Unity 4.x integration as well or does it work there?
