Pre-distorted aspect ratio

I'm looking at using a Rift with a wireless HDMI transmitter, but the device I have available will only work with standard TV resolutions (1080p, 720p). Trying to render at 720p causes incorrect distortion when the image is scaled up to 1280x800.

In theory, I should be able to render at 16:10, scale it to 16:9 for transmission, than let the rift hardware scale it back to 16:10. Does anyone know of a good way to do this in Unity? I'm assuming I just need to change the scale parameters being sent to the HmdWarp shader.
