Roll + Pitch problem causes blur

Hey Oculators,

So after updating several apps and getting Unity first-party support to work with the rift, I have successfully gotten the rift to display stereo and utilize its head tracking properly. Just as many on these forums, my results are intermittent with the display, taking 3 or 4 times to actually work in play mode, however it displays and tracks fine when it does. When I save and build my scene however, it does something I haven't encountered yet in my Oculus adventures: the tracking works fine, but the display is offset by some value I believe, because I can see the scene fine and it seems my viewports are indeed different giving me stereo view but when I roll or pitch my head tracking, the scene splits into two and move away from each other. The scene is intact when my tracking if forward and flat, but when I turn my head to make the dk2 screen vertical, the scene is destroyed.

I'm not sure exactly what is causing this unless there is an easily reachable parameter that could be changed that would account for this abnormality.

Hope someone can help,
VANHALEN

  • Also, I just thought it may be the resolution messing it up. I have the build settings to be 1920x1080 but when I build it prompts me to select a resolution and gfx setting. There is no option for 1920 only my native 1366.
  • So I've found that it's not the build that's the problem, its just coming out as one screen rather than stereo so it was muffed but I figured that out by removing the lenses. Is there an option to override this? I've already checked Virtual reality supported and it works fine in play mode.
  • I'm still not sure I understand the problem. Can you send me a simple repro case?
  • Sorry for the confusion cyber, the problem is that my build is displaying as a single view when I need it to be split into stereoscopic. Is there an option for this?
I'm not sure what a repro case is...

  • Once you check "Virtual Reality Supported" it should show up automatically in stereo on the Rift when you press Play or after running a build. The preview on the monitor will remain in 2D.

Are you sure you are on the latest Oculus runtime and Unity version 5.1.1p3 (or newer)?

Can you also provide these log files? viewtopic.php?f=34&t=23521
