Slower performance and no optimised anti-aliasing since Unity 5.1

Hi all. I work for a company that is creating a VR app for the Samsung Gear VR through Unity and we have noticed that performance has degraded noticeably since we updated Unity from 5.0 to 5.1. Aside from he app running very "chuggy" at the moment we have also noticed that the option for antialiasing on the render textures used for each eye has been removed and adding the native antialiasing now degrades performance further. The result is a very choppy app with a lot of "jaggies". This is very disappointing considering the app was running well and with much less aliasing on the previous version of Unity 5. Has anyone found this with other projects they are working on? Any tips/workarounds that might help fix these issues? Thanks for any help!
