Spherical Video PLayback
Hi,
Is there some way that I can setup Unity to allow me to take a panoramic video like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O40xpI5hkJI
and then have the user inside the spherical video viewing the content with oculus (dk2)?
I'm not interested in streaming it from the web or anything like that.
Thanks

- prestonmediaspiHonored GuestFor playing the video, the only way I can think of right now would be to
1. Get Unity Pro (Render textures are pro only)
2. Import a sphere mesh that is visible from the inside.
3. Apply the render texture.
As for actually capturing the video for the render texture... I'm not sure, you could start by creating a camera with 120+ FOV.
This all assumes that the video is rendered from within the scene.
If you want to use an actual video file, you'd likely need a Movie Texture (also Unity Pro only). - jkmcrgHonored GuestYou might be interested in the work of http://elevr.com - a company doing a lot of active development and experimentation with spherical video.
