Unity 5.2 sudden VR crash
Hi all,
All of a sudden, I am getting a full blown crash whenever I run/play my project with the native VR support in Unity 5.2.0f3 and Oculus version 1.7 (SDK 0.6.0.1) which has never happened before, until today out of the blue. No change made to anything to do with VR or Oculus that might have triggered it, hence my confusion...
This is what I get on the top of the log (complete txt file attached, as well as 2 images):
My PC and GC:
- Windows 7
- Nvidia GTX980 Ti
Thanks in advance for your help,

- hmiriExplorerThanks, cybereality.
I noticed the 5.2.1p2 patch was released just yesterday 01 October, so I will upgrade to that.
By "latest" SDK, are you referring to downloading PC RUNTIME V.0.7.0.0.BETA? - hmiriExplorerUpgraded from 5.2.0f3 (0.6 runtime) to 5.2.1p2 (0.7 runtime) and ended up with NO functionality in Oculus. Now, back to Unity 5.2.0f3 and SDK 0.6.0.1
- cyberealityGrand ChampionDo you have Windows 7 SP1 installed, and also this patch:

Yes, I do have them installed and applied.
For now, I will stick with the specific versions of Unity and SDK that I have mentioned, as they seem to work fine. - SvenVikingExpert ProtegeI started getting an editor crash after upgrading to 5.2.1p2. vrdaveb said they identified a couple of problems that might be causing it and will fix them. For now I've seemingly been able to prevent the crash by turning my DK2 off and on a random number of times.
- vrdavebOculus Staff@Svenviking, can you provide a call stack when reporting crashes like this? Does the crash still occur when using 5.2.1p3? I'm not aware of any outstanding crash hazards in that version.
- SvenVikingExpert ProtegeI sent you all available editor logs via PM for the crash in 5.2.1p2, and submitted two sets to Unity via their crash report tool. The crash was still occurring for me in 5.2.1p3, but I didn't realise it was supposed to be fixed in this version. It's kind of inconsistent and I'm having trouble reproducing it right now (it stopped after restarting the Oculus runtime service, this time). I tried restarting my system etc. but it just won't crash. I'll grab the logs next time it occurs.
- vrdavebOculus StaffSorry but the crash logs you sent don't seem to be related. Did you get a case number from the Unity crash report? It sounds like you have found an issue with our server, so %LOCALAPPDATA%\Oculus\ServerLog_*.txt is likely to help.
