Unity 5 Beta 18 Performance issues?
Without going into too much detail, a colleague and I are developing using Unity 5 beta 18.
He's running a non-gaming laptop running win 8.1 with integrated graphics + i7 @ 2.7ghz
and I'm running 2x 970's and an AMD FX 6200 6 core OC @ 4.13GHZ on Win 7 x64
When we test our level0 scene, he has FPS shooting to 130+ , while my FPS is between 30-55 FPS. My CPU and GPU are both running well under 100%
I've tried
disabling SLI
dedicating a graphics card to PhysX
Updated Geforce Drivers/reverted drivers
Overclocked my Video cards with Afterburner
Nvidia Control Panel:
Turned off Vsync
Put VR Pre Rendered frames to 4 ( I know that adds latency but it should increase fps...)
Set Game Quality to Lowest
Is there anyone else with a powerful rig that is developing on Unity 5 with performance issues? Please note, I can play all your Unity demos at a fluid 75FPS no problem.

- enzeddaExplorerHow runneth the game without using the Rift?
Does it seem stable and usable without the Oculus stuff gummin' up the works?
Unity 4.xxxx is bad enough with all the oculus overhead, but whether 5 will be usable?
Who knows if and for how long?
I am beginning to pity the poor folk at Unity. This Oculus integration must be causing them grief as well. - standtall007Protege

Hi bilago, i am currently running Unity 5 beta 18 and i don't have any issues whether i play my game in the rift or outside the rift! i have heard somewhere on the web that geforce 970's ain't that reliable and therefore not too good to use with demanding 3d game, however i honestly don't know if this is true or not because i use a single 980!
