unity preview window issue

I have recently switched to using DX11 in Unity because of the HUGE performance increase on my development machine(Laptop, Nvidia 735M). The builds with Unity using DX11 will run with the Rift in Direct mode, not in extended. Prior to switching to DX11 I was unable to get any where near a solid 75 FPS on my builds. In DX11, rock solid 75. On the downside, realtime shadows are currently broken in DX11. Unity is aware of the issue and needs to fix something in their rendering path. The FPS increase I saw was not using realtime shadows in either DX11/Direct or DX9/Extended mode.
The part that stinks about this is I have not found a way to get the editor Game view working with my Rift in DX11. The DirectToRift.exe is the only way I have found to get the output on the Rift in Direct mode. As a workaround, I do my dev work in DX9 with the Game view pushed to the Rift, then switch to DX11 to do a build for performance checking.
