Updated OVR Package , Resolution Switch Error.
Hi, I WAS having the following crashes in my game:
OculusPlugin.dll caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005)
in module OculusPlugin.dll at 0033:71c5c39d.
I decided to see if there was an updated OVR package, and there was, so I installed it into my project.
Now my game won't even run, on starting it, it gives the following error:
Switching to resolution 1920x1080 failed, trying lower one
All resolution switches have failed
Screen: could not switch resolution (1920x1080 fs=0 hz=60)
Any clues?
- Myles
EDIT : Additionally, When running the DirecttoRift.exe I get:
Unable to run the Unity Application binary, is the patcher executable named correctly?

- cyberealityGrand ChampionDid you install both the newest Runtime and used the newest SDK?
Have you tried switching between Direct and Extended Mode (you should use DirectToRift.exe in both cases).
If in Extended Mode, are you sure that the resolution of the DK2 is set to 1920x1080 at 75Hz? - MiLO83Honored GuestAll is working now better than expected!
Not for certain what fixed it. But here's what I tried.
Somehow in the update my old OVRRig's FOV got set to 0 for one eye.
I just deleted the rig from hierarchy, opened a demo scene, copied the OVRRig, and pasted it in my scene with 0'd transforms. (It was a sub-object of a another gameobject to begin with).
Also, My monitor does not support 75hz, so I had been running the rift at 60hz, so I set it back to 75hz.
I just played my game for about 30 minutes without it crashing once! (Direct to Rift no less!)
I was ready to release my game 2 days ago, but the builds kept crashing, I now feel confident enough to release it! :D
Hopefully my problem and solution helps someone else,
Thank you CyberReality!
