Vibration disabled for GearVR?

I am developing a game for the GearVR using Unity and i was wondering of the vibration has been disabled while using the headset? Sorry if this has been answered already i am having troubling finding ...

Vibrating the phone while it is in the Gear VR headset is disabled by VRSVC. Can you use sound or visual cues instead?
