Why does Computer fans start getting louder when Developing for Rift in Unity?

I'm noticing whenever i plug the Rift and start developing and testing in Unity, my computer fans get loud, i guess cause the computer is hot.

But this doesn't seem to happen when i'm playing purchased VR games like Roborecall or whatever.
  • Have you compared the CPU and GPU usage while running the different apps? I suspect you'll find they are higher when the fans are going more.

  • Likely you aren't noticing it as much when you're in VR games because you've got a headset with headphones on. It will still be happening. Otherwise it could be a sign that you are developing a really, really heavy unity scene!
