Working on Unity Editor but not in build -> Security error. This plugin is invalid! (Unity 5.5.0f3)

Hi!

I've been trying to solve this issue during few hours... I've seen that some people has solved it using a Visual Redistribution package... but it hasn't worked for me.

The project is working perfectly in Unity Editor, but when I generate a build, it doesn't recognise the Oculus device....

If anybody can give me a clue it would be great... because it is quite urgent to have it working...

Thank you so much!

This will happen if you are using a hacked copy of OVRPlugin.dll or (more likely) if you've tried to run an executable that has non-english Unicode characters in the path name. Does it help to move your player to C:\Test\?
  • Hi!

Thank you so much!! That was the problem... we have a non-english character in the path.

Now I have another problem... If I open the build with the Oculus connected, the build stays freeze. If I open the build and after that I connect the Oculus it works... Do you have any clue? I don't see any error in the log... the build just stays freeze.

    Thanks!

Not sure why the app would freeze if the Rift is connected at start. Can you create a dump by right-clicking the process in Task Manager, zip it up, and share it with me via Dropbox or similar?
  • Hi,

I'm sending you the link to download through private.

If I unplugged the oculus when the app is freezed, it gets defreezed.
