360 Panoramic Stereoscopic Export Pipeline

I made this. Maybe you guys are interested in it. Iunno.

https://forums.unrealengine.com/showthr ... t-Pipeline

If you use Chrome you can look around and stuff.

It usually works embedded, but for some reason it doesn't work embedded on these forums?

Stereoscopic videos linked in youtube description. Is it true Stereoscopic? I've been told its good enough but its not perfect, because all I did was stick 2 cameras side by side. I really don't know what I'm doing, but a lot of people are saying this helps them with this endeavor, so, yeah. Here it is.

If you are just putting two cubemap captures side by side, it won't be properly stereoscopic unless your head is oriented in such a way that your eyes are in the same positions as the captures. As you turn your head, it will be like your eyes are turning in place instead of pivoting around your neck, and you will see double because your brain doesn't know what to make of that.

You best bet would be to simulate the kind of camera capture rig people are using in the real world, with several stereo camera pairs facing different directions, and running them through a panoramic stitcher independently for the left and right eye images. This will not look great, and will have noticeable seams, but it will be stereoscopic.

To do better you would need to emulate the ray tracing approach used by Otoy and render from thousands of different perspectives, and that would get very complicated.
