Base Unreal 3 Integration?

I'm interested in getting the Oculus working with an implementation of UE3. I saw the "UnrealEngine3 Integration v0.1.5 - Updated: April 3, 2013" document, but I'm not seeing the native .cpp files I'd expect to make my own binaries for a UE3 build under the 0.1.5 UDK download.

If I'm looking to build UE3 with the Oculus working, would the code come through my Epic lisence? Or should I find it somewhere on the Oculus developer center like I would with UDK download?

  • We can enable the download of the UE3 integration code, but it's only available for UE3 licensees. You should contact support@oculus.com and explain the situation. Then we will verify with Epic on our end, and then allow you to download the integration. Sorry for all the red-tape, but I'm sure you can understand why we need to do things this way.

Makes total sense. Thanks for the quick response!
  • Ok, please forgive me for being a noob....I've been learning UDK in anticipation of receiving my RIFT. I got my Rift, and I'm a little confused: I'm using the standard free version of UDK I downloaded months ago from the UNREAL website. Is there a special version of UDK I have to download to get the RIFT working? Also, the SDK says I need a full UE3 license, to access the version of Unreal with Oculus integration.... Does that mean I can't use the RIFT with just plain old free UDK? How much does a full UE3 license cost? Thank to anyone who can help me.
  • yea try to udk its free and there are many plugins for the integration of various functions such as oculus rift

What kind of issues, what is the version of the Scaleform? What is the 'much later UE3 build': the latest QA is Feb 2013? Just the latest from EpicP4\UnrealEngine3 branch?
  • At this point it is recommended to move to UE4, as all the development is being focused there. UE3 and UDK are pretty much legacy at this point, and I am not sure there will be much action any more.

Currently Thief is not supported. The developers of the game would need to add support themselves.
