Comprehensive tutorial for UE4 4.11 and Wwise + OVR Audio SDK integration for Gear VR ?
I can't seem to find any current guides / tutorials about getting Wwise + Oculus Audio SDK into UE4 4.11 and having 3D spatialized audio on Gear VR :/
Does such thing exist ?
P.S. 4.12 won't be getting anything for Gear VR most likely, so I am guessing I have no choice but to roll up my sleeves and work with Wwise.
Thanks

- vrdavebOculus StaffWwise hasn't released an integration for UE4.11 yet. Their 4.10 integration is here: https://github.com/audiokinetic/WwiseUE4Integration and it should work on Android. However the Oculus Spatializer Plugin for Wwise (https://developer.oculus.com/documentation/audiosdk/latest/concepts/osp-wwise-overview/) has not been tested with Gear VR. We are working on built-in UE4 audio spatialization for Gear VR. The hope is to include environment modeling as well as HRTF there. It will probably land in our Github (https://github.com/Oculus-VR/UnrealEngine) in the 4.11 timeframe.
- vrdavebOculus StaffBTW, AudioKinetic's guide to integrating Wwise into UE4 is in https://github.com/audiokinetic/WwiseUE4Integration/blob/release/Wwise_UE4_Integration.chm.
- motorsepMemberOh, if Gear VR native spatializer with HRTF will land in 4.11, then I better wait :)
Thanks! - motorsepMemberBtw, I posted logcat in another thread (about apps is not shutting down)

This is great news. I hope Epic will include this in the 4.12 release build. - motorsepMemberI might just build Oculus' branch if Epic doesn't include it into 4.12

Hm, let's see what happens :) - motorsepMemberSo, I got to try beta of upcoming Wwise plugin for UE4 (don't have to compile anything). I got it running pretty quickly, despite lack of instructions. However, I could never get it actually working. It's totally not intuitive system to work with. And since Wwise has no spatializer, I am not sure how Oculus Audio SDK can be hooked up to Wwise plugin. Totally awful :/
Native Oculus Audio SDK with spatializer and HRTF in UE4 is the only way to go as I see it  - motorsepMember

Apparently not even in 4.12 time frame: https://forums.unrealengine.com/showthread.php?108665-Developer-s-wish-list-(should-be-made-sticky-until-fulfilled)&p=519802&viewfull=1#post519802
Not to mention other few useful things aren't even on the table, if they think they have to ask Oculus to implement those :/
