DK2 not working in Standalone Preview or VR Preview (4.9)

Hi Guys,

I am new to this forum so sorry if this is the wrong board etc. I am still getting used to it. I am in the middle of programming a data visualization tool experiment for a company using an Oculus DK2. I had the Oculus working great for version 4.7 with the Feature Content etc but now when I try to open my project in 4.9 it will just come up with a black screen in VR and then in Standalone it will show the image but when I take it to alt+enter for VR it just goes back to the black screen again. I have tried most of the answers given to similar problems in this forum but still can't seem to fix it!

Help!

  • Same issue here and I'm building from source. It takes tons of restarting the binary, playing with the configure tool, etc... To get it to work again. This is only from the editor, packaged builds I've had no trouble I can recall. Hoping that this issue just goes away with the 0.7 runtime, but despite the responses from Art on epic's answer hub that the latest source contains the fix that doesn't appear to be the case as of any builds I've done up until tonight.
  • Yeah I can get it to work on other packages just not this specific project! Very annoyed as I need to demo my program this week!
  • I can confirm the problem still exists on latest builds of 4.9 including with the 0.7 SDK. Standalone builds work perfectly.

Give Epic some time to fiddle with it, they are usually quick off the mark with these things so I should imagine in a few days it will work flawlessly
  • Not able to view in vr via VR Preview or alt + enter from a packaged windows 64 scene.

    Oculus Runtime 0.6.0.1
    Direct HMD

    UE4 4.9.2
  • @dirtybutler: Try updating to the current runtime version (which is 0.7.0.0).
